When Maker’s Mark set out to unify its global communications, Wonderworks was invited to help bring clarity and consistency to one of the world’s most iconic whisky brands. Our challenge was to translate the depth of Maker’s Mark’s liquid craft and flavour science into a creative framework that could scale globally while flexing locally — empowering markets to activate confidently and creatively.

The Challenge
Unifying a Global Brand Voice
Maker’s Mark is celebrated for its handmade quality and inviting warmth. But as the brand grew globally, its communications became fragmented, with markets interpreting and expressing the story in different ways. The challenge was to create a single scalable platform that maintained the brand’s DNA while allowing local flexibility — ensuring every market could tell the same story without losing authenticity.
The APPROACH
From Liquid to Story
We began with the liquid. Using flavour science and sensory insight, we defined Maker’s Mark’s flavour DNA and translated it into emotive storytelling. This foundation informed every creative decision, from the development of a global serve strategy anchored in two signature serves — The Maker’s Sour and The Maker’s Collins — to the creation of a design system that unites storytelling and brand identity. Each serve was crafted to be globally consistent yet locally adaptable, ensuring the same narrative could be experienced everywhere from high-end cocktail bars to at-home occasions.

Our work for Maker’s Mark was about turning liquid craft into a multi-sensory experience that could live consistently across every channel and market. To bring this story to life visually, we produced best-in-class photography and content that captured the brand’s warmth and handmade character. Every image was designed to evoke flavour, ritual and authenticity, creating a content library that elevates perception and inspires engagement across markets.
From hero visuals for social media to detailed serve guides for trade, our assets travelled seamlessly across platforms, reinforcing the same narrative at every touchpoint.
